UBA rolls out N150 million Super Savers Promo

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has opened Season 5 of its Super Savers Promo, a nine‑month drive that runs from September 2025 through May 2026 and promises more than N150 million in cash prizes and rewards.

Program details and eligibility

The campaign, marketed under the theme “Season of Progress,” seeks to enroll roughly 1,500 participants across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. Customers can enter by depositing as little as N5,000 each month into a UBA Bumper Account, while other savings products require a minimum of N10,000. Those with dormant accounts may reactivate them with a N10,000 deposit to join a monthly N35,000 reactivation draw.

Prize tiers include quarterly “star” awards of N1 million for 27 winners, plus a ladder of smaller prizes ranging from N500,000 down to N10,000. Monthly airtime bonuses are also slated for hundreds of savers. Youth‑focused accounts—Kiddies, Teens and NextGen—carry prize caps of N200,000 to promote early financial literacy.

Digital onboarding and user experience

UBA has rolled out a new digital onboarding platform that lets customers open accounts online in real time, bypassing the need for branch visits. The move mirrors a broader shift in the sector, as physical locations see declining foot traffic while many users prefer interactions through social media and mobile apps.

According to the bank’s latest satisfaction surveys, the digital experience score sits at 94.4, placing UBA second among Nigerian banks. Recent redesigns introduced a data‑lite mode for budget‑conscious users and clearer pricing, which the bank says cut onboarding drop‑offs by 40 percent and boosted engagement among low‑income customers.

Nigeria’s financial inclusion rate is only 64.1 percent, well below the Central Bank of Nigeria’s target of 80 percent set for 2020. Current figures show about 110.9 million adults hold formal bank accounts, leaving roughly 102.1 million people without access to banking services.

In practice, the promo could give people who have struggled to open an account a concrete reason to try digital banking. A modest monthly deposit that qualifies for a prize draw may feel more attainable than a larger lump‑sum commitment, especially in a climate where inflation hit 33.69 percent in April 2024.

Regulatory oversight and transparency

All draws will be conducted live under the watch of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and the Lagos State Lottery & Gaming Authority. This oversight responds to recent warnings from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission about fraudulent promotional schemes targeting consumers.

Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications Alero Ladipo said the initiative goes beyond prize distribution, describing it as part of the bank’s mission to deliver innovative solutions and create opportunities for a diverse customer base.

Since the first Super Savers Promo, the bank has recognized more than fifteen hundred winners, reinforcing loyalty while encouraging disciplined saving habits. The previous year’s 75th‑anniversary promo handed out a comparable amount in prizes, highlighting the bank’s ongoing commitment to reward programs.
