Drishyam 3 receives rave reviews and strong bookings - drishyam 3
Drishyam 3 secured over ₹50 crore in advance bookings prior to its theatrical release.

Drishyam 3 has arrived in theatres, delivering the long-awaited finale to Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar saga—and early reactions suggest it may be the strongest chapter yet. The film, which crossed ₹50 crore in advance bookings before its release, has drawn widespread praise for its performances, suspense, and a climax described by critics as the franchise’s best. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh awarded the film 4.5 stars, calling it the best film in the series and highlighting its writing, courtroom sequences, climax, and the Ajay Devgn-Jaideep Ahlawat face-off.

Another critic, Amit Bhatia, went further, labeling it a film of the year and praising its ability to keep viewers glued to their seats throughout. The film’s interval block, a key moment where Devgn delivers a single, high-impact dialogue, has become a focal point of discussion. Jaideep Ahlawat, playing Crime Branch officer Rajveer Singh Tomar, also received attention for his performance, particularly in the first half, where his aggressive intensity dominates the screen. The plot follows Vijay Salgaonkar as he faces a new investigation that threatens to expose the secrets he’s spent years burying.

Unlike the original Malayalam Drishyam, this Hindi version crafts its own resolution, with director Abhishek Pathak and writers Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh ensuring the story remains distinct. The cast includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, and Prakash Raj, alongside Devgn and Ahlawat. The film’s climax twist has been singled out as a standout, with multiple reviewers stating it outperforms the endings of both Drishyam and Drishyam 2.

One critic noted that the setup and pacing make the finale more satisfying than the combined efforts of the earlier films. Audiences have described the thriller as highly engaging, with one viewer giving it 4.5 stars and calling it a mass-level film in terms of tension and execution. The Hindi version diverges from the original Malayalam story, offering a fresh conclusion to Vijay’s arc. Produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, and presented by Star Studio18, the film is now playing in theatres worldwide from October 2.
